"I don't believe everyone with magic is evil,"
Merlin looked across at him at this - a little surprised that Arthur had openly admitted this, he'd expressed the question of 'what if' before - when they had met Morgause, but now he appeared to be adament about the subject. Whether it was just because he wanted to save Uther, Merlin didn't know. He knew Arthur wouldn't think like that - he trusted him and now even more so, now that he'd said that. "Really?" Merlin asked, wanting to know a little of why Arthur thought this, "Why?" he now asked it out loud, "I mean...you've always gone along on your father's word - I thought you didn't agree with magic just like him." Merlin knew that Arthur wasn't the typical 'father's son' - that he had seen first hand.
"If he has good in his heart, then I hope with some convincing . . . he will prove my father wrong."
"Oh he does!" Merlin replied almost too quickly and enthusiastically for his liking. "I mean...I've heard he is, so I think he'll be more than willing to help." Yes. Merlin would be willing to help - going to extremes of turning back into an old man again. Arthur would certainly be surprised to see him again. Hopefully that woudn't put him off, given their last meeting with Merlin in that 'physical state'.
Did he think that Arthur was doing the right thing? Of course he did. At this he nodded. "If you believe that magic can be used for the better then I see no reason in judging you now for asking help to use it. After all, it's been around for centuries and surely during that time it wasn't used to cause chaos. We wouldn't be here, right here, right now otherwise." he pointed out. Hopefully that would put Arthur's mind at rest for now. "So yes, I think you are - and even if other's judge you, don't listen to them, because you know your own heart and you know that all the things you have acheived have been through your own choices."

Merlin felt like he was finally making some use of himself. He felt more alive than he had done in years, and all because of the events that had led up to one thing. Arthur and Gwen. He could finally feel a new beginning now that they were married and as a result, he was more chipper. Merlin was even sure that he had a bounce in his walk as he headed along his way to the lake.
He was going to see Freya, going to tell her of everything that had happened. Of Arthur becoming King. His marriage to Gwen. Everything finally seemed to be going right for him for once, and hopefully nothing or no one could ruin that for him now. He even picked some flowers especially for Freya. He'd missed her, not being able to come and see her as much as he liked. To be fair, the last few months had been quite hectic for all of them, so he would explain his reasons to her.
Yes. Today was a good day. So would the day after that, and after that, and so on.
Finally reaching the lake, he stood on the bank and looked out over it. Nothing had changed. It still beheld it's beauty, and Merlin could feel that it was Freya making it this way. He hoped she could stay on shore for longer this time. They hadn't really had much time before, as she'd only just begun to control it somewhat. "Freya?" he crouched down to the water and said her name quietly, looking around after to make sure no one was around to see him. "Freya?" he called a little louder this time.
Merlin got back up, watching and waiting for her to appear, his stomach turning in knots as he did so.

It appeared that Freya had this all thought through, going to see the druids and all. Merlin would like that, especially to gain a little more knowledge and understanding of them. Still there was always the risk of them finding out where he was from. Freya seemed to be justifying this right now, and he believed her. He believed every word she said. Freya wouldn't like to him - he knew that much. He was Emrys. Yes and apparently he wouldn't be forgotton. That alone had it's advantages and disadvantages. "I don't know whether never being forgotton is a good thing or a bad thing" he chuckled. "especially when people are out to get me for most of the time."
Out to get him and Arthur so it seemed. That was what destiny was all about. Avoiding the obstacles and working their way to the finishing point whenever the time was right.
"Won't they be a little...scared of me though?" he asked, "Knowing that i'm who they've heard about?" He didn't know what extent the druids knew about him, and he wasn't sure whether he wanted to find out.

Great. Now he'd dug himself a big enough hole for Arthur to bury him. "Of course I didn't!" he rolled his eyes, "What do you take me for? Actually don't answer that because I already know" he sighed, "an idiot." Yes, Merlin the idiot servant who apparently was an alcoholic. Merlin would make Gauis regret saying that he was in the tavern when he was told not to! "Oh I already know the type of consequences. I'd be used as an attack dummy in training, get mauled by your dogs while excercising them - oh, and you'd kill me." he smiled, knowing exactly what levels of punishment Arthur would bestow on him.
"You do realize I am king, right? Unless in your drunken state you missed the entire ceremony,"
"I hadn't noticed" Merlin smirked, "but then again that crown is kind of a giveaway..." He grabbed another goblet of wine and passed it to Arthur, "There you go, drink up! It is your coronation you know." he smiled. Coronation. Thank goodness! "right, now for that walk" he rubbed his hands together. "You cannot leave Merlin. Have your years of being a servant not taught you anything?" Merlin raised his brows, "a fair few things...but I won't go into those" he smiled, "You are my manservant. You can not leave unless I do. Besides, who do you think will be cleaning up at the end of the festivities?"
Merlin groaned, "now that's not fair! Im a 'personal' manservant." He could see that this conversation really wasn't doing him any justice. "But what if I need to pee?! I'll have to leave then!" but seeing the expression on Arthur's face made him think twice. "It's ok! I'll hold it..." he quickly answered his own question. "and i'll stay until you leave...sire." No early night for him then.

This was not good. If Caitrin went straight to Arthur and told him of what she'd seen, then he would never hear the end of it. Merlin couldn't deal with a lifetime of Arthur lecutring him about what a man did in his spare time. He'd had that before when he'd been caught carrying Morgana's dress! "He won't tell you." he swallowed and shook his head with some innocence. Both he and Caitrin knew that he was wrong and that Arthur would most likely blab all to her. "Because I haven't done anything."
She lived with her Uncle? Merlin wondered whether he'd seen him around or at court. "Who is your uncle?" he asked, "I might have seen him." Anything! Anything to draw her away from the subject of his 'hobby'. "I was born and raised in Mercia, but my father sent me to live with my Uncle in Camelot a few years ago." Just like him, only his mother had sent him.
"My mother sent me here" he smiled slightly, "thought that it would make me become something...I suppose being a manservant compensates" he gave a small smirk. He hadn't wanted to be Arthur's servant in the first place but now, as time had gone on he'd grown to secretly enjoy it. Arthur hadn't been as bad as he thought he would be and Merlin was learning never to quickly judge books by their covers. "Why did your father?" he asked and then looked embarassed, "sorry - I don't mean to pry."

"Well thanks for coming, that's exactly what I need."
He was glad that Elyan was grateful to him coming to see him. He thought he would be at least a little apprehensive at Merlin approaching him. Then again Merlin just wanted to make him feel a little better than he had been during the last couple of days. "Good" he smiled, "To be honest, i've been a little worried". He knew Elyan wasn't the type to have some emotional breakdown, but he still wanted to make sure he was ok.
Merlin sat down next to Elyan as he dared to ask the dreaded question. What did he do? Well, did Merlin actually want to go into it? "Well...you - errr, attacked Arthur, or at least tried to." he admitted. Did he remember that? Merlin could only remember the events all too well. "I think he seemed to be your main target."
He felt, somewhat, uncomfortable telling Elyan this - it wasn't nice to go into the details of what he'd tried to do whilst under possession. It certainly hadn't been nice witnessing them.

To Merlin, it appeared that Elyan was trying to sound chipper than before, but he could see that the experiance would be one that wouldn't leave him for a long time - especially after some of the things that he had done whilst possessed. He was now making a light hearted joke at which Merlin smiled weakly.
He walked in as Elyan stood aside to let him pass. He turned back to his friend as he closed the door behind him. "I know...that the whole thing - hasn't really been pleasant" Merlin began awkwardly, "and I know that you did things that were out of character due to 'that' - but I just came to say that if you ever felt like talking, about it or about anything - then i'm more than happy to listen. He shrugged.
It was hard finding the right words to say, but Elyan had a friend - and right now it seemed like he needed to get some things off of his chest. For a start Merlin could see that he needed cheering up after everything, and he was sure that he could help in some way or another.

Merlin smiled as Elyan opened the door. He looked a lot better, well - better than he had done when he was possessed. Merlin had never thought such things as possible, only beliving them to be of legend, but after seeing what Elyan had been through (and all because of disturbing a druid's shrine) he now knew that he wouldn't be going back there ever again, and he doubted that his friend would be either.
"I just came to see if you were alright" Merlin answered as Elyan asked what he could do for him. "You know, after...all that happened and everything" he shrugged. Merlin didn't really know how else to approch the subject without making Elyan feel uncomfortable. He just hoped that it would be easy to talk to him now.
"I can always come back if you're busy, or were just about to head off somewhere?" he added, not wanting to keep Elyan from any duties or training that he might have scheduled. Merlin had a long 'to do' list of Arthur's but that would take a week anyway, so it didn't really matter when he started.

"How can I not?" He raised his voice slightly, but not enough for it to sound angry. He wasn't that after all - he was just confused as to why now? Why not later? "If i'm thinking it then everyone else will start to soon enough." he ran a hand through his hair, "and you know me, I always listen to you because you're right..."
He stuffed a few things into the bag , hunting around for whatever else he needed. He didn't know what he needed, but should anything in particular catch his eye right now, he'd gladly pop it in the bag. Keeping his back to her, he fiddled with a few new items, only hearing his mother's words when he wasn't so engrossed in his own thoughts. "please forgive me,". He felt his shoulders sink a little, almost in defeat. He felt defeated by all of this - and he hadn't even started any kind of war with his mother.
Merlin gave a small sigh and turned to her. "You've got nothing to apologise for - you're just doing what's best for me."

Merlin embraced his mother tightly as she buried her head into him. He was worried now, very worried indeed. "Mother?" he replied, it almost sounding like a plea. "Tell me...please..." She didn't sound well, nor did she look it now that he had seen her face. He was just about to ask the question on that matter when he was interrupted.
"Merlin! What the he--"
Great. That was all he needed right now - Arthur coming to hunt him down to get him to do more washing, polishing or scrubbing. He looked up at Arthur, who almost looked as shocked as Merlin had to find Hunith there. "Is everything alright?"
Merlin shook his head sliently before speaking. "She's too upset to talk. I need to get her to Gauis, will you help me? Please?" Merlin had never had to ask anything of Arthur since becoming his servant. Well nothing that he could remember anyway - besides as he waited on him day and night, he hoped that he would be granted this one favour.
"Can you stand?" he asked softly

Merlin had decided to let all the specuation about Elyan die down. It was done. The spirit of the druid that had possessed him was well and truly gone (after so quite astonishing circumstances, that Merlin was not about to mention to Arthur anytime soon) and it was time to just move on.
He had decided to pay a visit to Elyan one evening after he'd finished up the last of his chores for Arthur. He hadn't really had the time to see him beforehand, let alone talk properly to him. Then again there was a chance that Elyan might not be there - for all Merlin knew he could be at a tavern with Gwaine. Hmmm, he didn't seem the sort to live up to Gwaine's standards - then again no one could ever compare with Gwaine when it came to ale mixed with women.
Merlin took a chance, arriving at Elyan's quarters and knocking on the door. If he wasn't there, then he would just go and see him tomorrow evening. "Elyan? It's Merlin - are you in there?" he called through the door.

She was right, even he believed that one day it would happen - he just hoped that it would be at a conveniant time. Of course it would be in Arthur's - the dragon had already hinted at that much, and Merlin knew that it wouldn't happen without both of them in the picture. "It will" he smiled, "I know it will."
“You have so much left to do. For Camelot, Arthur….Albion.”
Yes, once again it was all down to him so it seemed. He'd already expressed thoughts to Gauis about why everyone thought it was always down to him to set things right. Destiny or not, destiny carved it's own path - Merlin and Arthur seemed to be both there just to tell it which way to take. He said nothing out loud about this, otherwise he might just have well have gone into a full blown rant - and he didn't want to spoil things with Freya. Instead he kept his mouth shut.
"I'd like that" he smiled at her mention of hoping to leave the lake, as well as taking him to the druids. "Although...won't they be a bit...well, annoyed that i'm there? After all, I serve a man whose father hates anyone with magic. Won't they dislike me for that?" he asked. When Merlin had gone against Mordred, he was a druid and hates him. Then again that was quite personal but still - with druid traditions as they were, he had steered clear from them.

He frowned as Freya sat up again. What was she talking about? On her words he just looked at her blankly. Pressure on what exactly? Right now he wasn't exactly in the best state of mind - oh and now she was going to take off her nightdress...that would just make his mentality (or what was left of it) go straight out of the window!
She kissed him again, looking like she was a little more comfortable. He liked the way she kissed him, as though they were both still innocent and yet with a sense of awkwardness to them both. Far from quite frankly. His hands moved to her shoulders, pushing the nightdress down from where she'd loosened it.
"What...er...exactly do you want me to do?" he asked, after all - she was the one who would be the most uncomfortable out of the pair, and Merlin didn't want that.

He didn't want to leave. He couldn't. What would his mother do without him? What would he do without her? It wasn't right - going to find a strange man he knew nothing about whatsoever, and a strange place where anything could happen. He walked over to the corner of the room, where he found his bag and started to rummage around - looking for things to put into it.
Merlin looked back over his shoulder, seeing his mother there trying her hardest not to cry. "Please Merlin," he heard her say as he turned back and focused on finding anything that he would need to take with him. "No, no" he shook his head calmly. "It's your choice, if you want me to go then i'll go" he wanted her to see that he was going to be grown up about this. "After all..." he stood up and finally turned to face her, seeing that she was indeed crying, "no one can expect me to stay here...not when im so different from them. I might scare them if they found out."
That was that, a simple statement and one that stung him so much. He knew Will wouldn't tell but his mother was right. He was at risk, and the last thing he wanted to do was drive people away or make them fear him. "So...i'll leave tomorrow morning yes?"

He was starting to understand a little more as to why people should place him in the 'dangerous' catergory. They didn't understand the extent. nor did people like him use their powers for good. Merlin just used them because they were there, and for silly little things such as making the chores be done a lot faster than normal. It helped.
Merlin imagined that his mother must have been goin out of her mind when his talent first started to show. He had been confused when he was old enough to understand why things moved or floated around, slowly being able to control them as he grew older and with the art of concentrating enough. He admired her for actually putting up with him, with all that. Trust his mother not to say anything to anyone else.
Oh dear, he'd made her cry. This wasn't good at all. "I don't want you to leave Merlin," He looked up from the gaze that had been fixed on his lap, "Then what do you want me to do?" he asked. "Please. You are my son, and I love you so much." Yup, the conversation was most certainly going in the direction that he dreaded; despite her protests.
"But if Gaius can answer the questions you have... wouldn't that be something?"
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaand there it was...
He stayed quiet for sometime. He didn't want to leave, he didn't want to find this 'Gauis' he liked where he was, how he was, who he was.
"So..." he began, "You do want me to leave." This time it was no question, and instea of giving her time to answer he slapped his thighs and stood up. "Right well I guess i'd better pack my things." He didn't want to be angry and it wasn't his mother he was actually angry at - it was the fact that this 'gift', 'talent', 'power'...burden?! Was turning his life upside down. And not in a good way.

Would they? Would they really?! He certainly hoped so! He didn't want to have to make her feel anymore uncomfortable than she already was. Merlin felt her hands go round to the back of his neck as she kissed him again. Now he could only do the one thing possible to actually get the ball rolling.
Gently, he picked her up and carried her back over to the bed, setting her down whilst all the time managing to keep his lips on hers. How the hell was he supposed to pull this off? It seemed impossible?! Merlin didn't have a clue as to how other couples made this work. Talk about keeping the magic secret!
"I...erm..." he stumbled as he realised he actually had no clue as to how to go about making this any easier, "Well...i've got no idea how this will work" he admitted.

Merlin suddenly felt bad now - he quickly shook his head. "No, no, no - it's not that, it's just..." How could he explain it? "Well...it would be a bit difficult".
That was pathetic...
He pressed another long kiss on her lips for good measure. "I just didn't think that you would want to given that you're pregnant" he carried on, noting the awkwardness that she was now showing. "I suppose we could...try?" he suggested, not even knowing how this was going to all pan out, "and then at least we could work some way around it?".
Quite frankly the bottom line was that he was now going to have to deal with a newly sexual frustrated Freya, who now wanted to jump on him at every given opportunity. It couldn't be that bad? Could it?

"Just wha..."
He didn't even have time to ask before she'd literally pounced on him and was kissing him manically. What on earth???!!! Where had that even come from?! They hadn't really...well, they hadn't exactly done that for a couple of months - not since she found out that she was with child anyway. Merlin certainly hadn't suggested it, not because he didn't want to - he did, but then again she was with child and it wouldn't exactly be the easiest thing to do.
He pulled away. "Er...well..." he began, trying to find the words, "That was...unexpected..."he shifted awkwardly. No doubt he liked her kissing him, but she'd suddenly turned ravernous! He could only blame it on the mood swings. Was this what pregnant women did?! Suddenly have this frustration to jump on men? Not just their husband but any man?!
"Are you sure you're feeling alright?" he asked again, just to make sure.
